5150 Des Ormes Street is at the end of a little street in a small nondescript town. After a bike accident, Yannick Berube finds himself in this very peculiar house, taken care of by a mysterious family. Jacques Beaulieu, the last of the Just, champion chess player, rules the roost with an iron fist – his submissive wife Maude obeys him and God only, while 16-year-old his daughter Michelle starts to openly rebel against his rule. Beaulieu issues Yanick this challenge: “Beat me at chess and I’ll let you leave”. Yanick has no choice but to play for his life – or his sanity.
