A televised musical extravaganza celebrating the 35th anniversary of Studio 42, Radio-Canada’s mythic television studio in the heart on Montreal’s CBC/Radio-Canada building.
The Montreal Symphony Orchestra, directed by maestro Kent Nagano, performs works by Beethoven, Shostakovich, Mahler, Bizet, E. Grieg and Elgar. In addition, excerpts from Studio 42’s most memorable productions will be shown during the evening. Finally, Ginette Reno’s celebrated contributions to Studio 42’s fame will be highlighted in a montage of all her appearances on that symbolic stage. She performs ‘Fais-moi la tendresse’ alongside Marc Hervieux, and on her own a medley of the hits ‘Summertime’, ‘The Man I Love’, and ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’.
