Éric Pedneault, his son Mathis, Julie Péloquin, her teenage daughter Élodie, as well as Éric and Julie’s little “miracle baby” Mégane, all live together, overwhelmed by the quick pace of life today… Between work, daycare, Élodie’s high school and Mathis’s kindergarten, they barely have time to catch their breath. The couple works crazy hours to afford the big fancy house, the two cars, the latest technologies and all the other trappings considered essential nowadays.
Their lives change when Éric’s father dies. His mother Estelle finds out that she’s inherited a mountain of debt; she has to sell the house to settle the bill and finds herself without a roof over her head. What to do? They can’t just leave her out on the streets! A win-win solution is quickly established: Estelle will come to live with the family for a while. Finally, someone will be there to cook, clean and take care of the baby. They might even be able to breathe a little for once…at least, that’s what they think.
