Two bench-clearing brawls in the same game; rival hockey team fans fighting in the streets; family gatherings ruined because of hockey… In the 1980s in the province of Quebec, hockey’s heartland, the passions stirred up by the rivalry between the Québec Nordiques and the Montreal Canadiens were so intense that it can seem inconceivable to us today. Directed by Jean Bourbonnais and scripted by Mathias Brunet, this documentary attempts to understand and explain that explosive rivalry through the lens of the major social issues that were tearing Quebec apart at the time.
