URBANIA: LE QUÉBEC EN 12 LIEUX

  • Broadcaster

    TV5 Québec (Canada)

Urbania: Le Québec en 12 lieux, is a documentary series that lets viewers discover Quebec by taking an in-depth look at 12 unique sites in and around the province. The locales vary widely from the easily-missed, tucked-away treasure to the places so celebrated that they are often overlooked. Each episode will focus on one site and delve deeper into its history, the people who live and work there and those who are passionate about preserving and promoting the place. Far removed from what has come before, the series aims to take a new, amusing and sometimes touching look at the people and places of the province everyone thinks they know. In order to paint a more complete and compelling picture of modern Quebec with its various world-views and colourful contrasts, each episode will centre around a theme born from the vibrant Quebecois spirit. We will turn our attention to subjects including hockey, religion, the wide open spaces, the Amerindians, our snowfalls, the environment and even our forests in order to better convey the character and ethos of the province. The elements touched upon in each episode will be unique to Quebec and its peoples and every site visited will embody these home-grown themes.
